As a Chicago corporate photographer, I get to witness many great moments. However, few are as meaningful and energizing as last Friday’s Chip Away at Cancer Golf Outing at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club.

A Meaningful Event

This wasn’t just any event. Hosted by the Chicago Associate Board, the June 6 outing brought together a dynamic group of young professionals. They’ve been making waves in fundraising since the pandemic. In 2024 alone, this incredible group raised more than $71,000 for the American Cancer Society—and they’re just getting started. The outing has become a beloved annual tradition, known for its great energy and purpose-driven fun.

Capturing the Moments

As a Chicago events photographer, I had the privilege of documenting it all: the camaraderie, the competition, and the moments in between. There were laughs over drinks, cheers on the green, and arms-length raffle tickets. The event kicked off at 11 a.m. From the first check-in to the tee-offs, everyone was relaxed, welcoming, and genuinely enjoying themselves. That’s one of my favorite things about corporate event photography. People let their guard down and focus on the experience. This makes for authentic, joy-filled images.

A Personal Connection

This event was also a bit personal for me. I grew up just a few miles from Cog Hill and took golf lessons there as a kid. Being back—this time with a camera instead of a club—was a full-circle moment. The setting? Just as stunning as I remember.
